Problem
The backend of a multiplayer gaming platform slowed as player numbers grew. Processing delays affected in-game stability and playability. The issue was accumulated overhead across data processing and CRUD operations, rather than a single faulty query.
Solution
I reworked backend data processing and CRUD operations in C# and MySQL. I measured frequently executed paths and targeted the most expensive operations, reducing the cost of existing behaviour.
Result
Server performance improved by 35%, increasing stability and operational efficiency. The same hardware handled the same player load with less strain.
